Book Corner

located at 311 North 20th Street (at Wood Street), one block north of the Ben Franklin Parkway, directly behind the Central Library on Logan Square and just five minutes from Routes 95 and 76 - is a used bookstore staffed by a team of paid and volunteer booksellers that offers gently used, publicly donated books, records, CDs at reduced prices. Now the new home of Chris' Kids Corner for children's books and story hours, they also feature an eclectic stock of fiction, non-fiction, contemporary, classics, out of print, first editions, art, architecture and crafts.

  • Chaucer

    Chaucer is the face of Book Corner. A fantastic doorman, he sometimes greets customers at the door. When he’s not feeling as social, he loves a good mystery and can often be found curled up taking a nap next to the thrillers. No matter the amount of brushing, he likes rolling in anything he can find so he can stay just a little grey. He’s a great companion to the staff and Pencil.

  • Pencil

    Miss Pencil is an adorable loving companion for the Book Corner staff and customers.  She loves to zoom through our rooms and jump on top of the shelves. She also enjoys sleeping in every chair in the shop, especially the ones which her human staff/crew may be sitting in. She likes pats behind the ears and she hates it when her belly is rubbed for too long. She sometimes expresses her distaste for long periods of belly rubs by biting. Overall she is the best co-boss we have next to Chaucer. 

  • Catticus Finch

    Catticus passed away in April 2022, but his spirit lives on through Book Corner. Pay tribute to him in the religion section of the store.
